He had a conflicted relationship with it in that he got to the natural
world fairly late. But in his statement, he was referring only to
product (output from those who record), not natural soundscapes, per
se. Poor thing; he still has to endure dismissal or skepticism even in
his current state with no chance for a clever rejoinder.
