I feel that the statement below is somewhat basurd, considering that Cage w= as very much into mycology. Perhaps he was not always truthful, or maybe he was not completely in tune = with himself, but how could one hunt for, and pick, mushrooms and not be into th= e osunds of one's surroundings?
