Gladly, because what I said was "almost all", not "all". Certainly =
adequate crossover systems exist, but it's my recollection of the article i=
s that even fourth-order crossovers were inadequate. By "external" he was r=
eferring to amps and preamps with LFE output, and to speakers with crossove=
r output choices. Please check the article and not me on those specifics. T=
he point the author was making was that the typical equipment available to =
the consumer was inadequate to maintain a smooth response curve from the su=
b to the main speaker.
It's only my ears, but I got rid of my sub and have no regrets.
