I can't be much help with this, as I am only using them as a monitoring too=

to count bat passes, with the main concern of separating horseshoe bats out
from the rest, at one site lesser horseshoe bats and at another site greate=

horseshoe.

If I was trying to do something more difficult, I would certainly look in
more detail at how the compression affected the frequencies recorded, but a=
t
the moment it is working well enough for the very specific use.

I do intend having a look at this issue longer term, to sort out any
limitations before using them for other bat species, but for now I do not
know the answer to your question.
