Hi Paul--
To elaborate on Oryoki's mention: Two, inexpensive phantom power
supplies for the condenser mics that will not detract from quality
are the Rolls PB224 and the Art Phantom II.

Art has a newer model as well:

Both are larger than the M10 and run on one or two 9 volt batteries.
The Art Phantom II has been used by Curt Olson with the metal case
and two or more of the bulky XLR connectors removed for a smaller
profile. I can probably dig-up a photo of his Art Phantom II
modification if Curt can't point us to one.
David Michael's test a few months ago suggested that Audio Technica's
AT4022 mics perform very similarly, if not identically to the
AT3032's with self-noise around 8dB(A). Rob D.
