Dear Paul
I am probably the most uneducated in this group, but as I do have this sony=
recorder and the mics I thought to give you my 2 cents. If you are conside=
ring now an external preamp, external phantom power, and all those intercon=
nectors, I might suggest that you rather consider having 2 setups:
1) Just your PCM-M10, which is a great product and has nice quiet mics alre=
ady, relative to what it is. This for super portability. Then
2) Fostex FR2le with those nice AT mics. Relatively good battery life, ligh=
tweight for the quality, and all in one unit. This for the really good reco=
rding.

I would think this would save you a lot of hassle, time to set up, tangles,=
awkwardness and so on, and should also be better sound-wise.

Best wishes
Justin
