Hello All, I have just joined this group, and would like to ask a question concerning the Sony PCM-M10 and external Mics. My interest is in recording nature sounds ie. Thunder storms, rain, a pond at dusk etc. I am new to sound recording, and am sifting thru all the info that is out there. I have just purchased, and am waiting on the arrival of the Sony-M10. My wish would be to combine the Sony with a pair of Rode NTG-55 mics, or if they could be found, a pair of Audio Technica AT3032 mics. I would build a stereo rig to mount them, as has been detailed on this site and else where. Can it be done? The Sony does not have a XLR jack, so no phantom power. Can they be run from a external power supply, which would not compromise sound quality, or noise levels of both the mics and recorder. Or have I chosen the wrong recorder? Many Thanks, Paul Shopis |
