Well, I know with certainty that there WAS quite low introductory pricing
when they were first delivered to dealers, I heard this first-hand from two
different dealers. One person quoted me $1K a mic or $2K a stereo pair
shipped.
I myself didn't get in on that, but I did find that Full Compass is still
showing prices MUCH lower than those Greg just quoted ($1900!?):

These are asking a touch over US$1000 per mic including capsule and body.
Fwiw I was quoted 15% over that elsewhere recently.
Perhaps Greg's prices are the new official 2008 list, not sure but I was of
the thought that these may be act-now-while-you-can sort of thing... though
perhaps not?
In any event I trust they're going to hold value like their noble ancestors
so if it's not right for me... no worries. :D
