I have an OWC portable FW drive I use for music gigs - three years going now on the hitachi 80 G drive inside. I'm noticing more noise as it writes lately so a change is planned. But so far (knock wood) no failures with 16 and 18 track work routinely. I usually backup sessions to the Powerbook's internal drive until I get it home and transfered... Barracuda 100G in the future for this case. <L> Lou Judson =95 Intuitive Audio 415-883-2689 On Sep 18, 2006, at 6:46 AM, Walter Knapp wrote: > Note that the cheap firewire drives are probably less trustworthy in > the > field than the one in the 722.
