Oh, sorry, 'linked' is SD's term for how the volume controls work. 'Linked' 
means the top knob (on the left side of the face) controls volume, and the 
bottom one controls balance. That's typically a better arrangement for 
stereo than 'unlinked', which leaves the top knob controlling channel 1, and 
the bottom knob channel 2.
