Mark asked, >I'm assuming that you didn't have any noticeable HF roll off at 50 feet. >Any theoretical ideas on the cable length before HF roll off becomes >noticeable? Well, if I read my Shure Reactance Slide Rule correctly, with a source of 2K ohms, a -3dB rolloff at 20KHz would happen with a load of 4000pF or .004uF. The miniature coax cable I'm using is probably about 30pF/ft. So the rolloff calculated above would happen at 133ft. I suspect I'm getting a measurable but not too significant rolloff at 50ft--probably less than the attenuation of a windscreen. -Dan Dugan ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
