Hmm, thanks for the mention - I have one of the sets of three CM-300s
in storage - stopped using them due to lack of phantom power - but for
field recording they would be perfect!
Few factoids: The 9V round mercury batteries are no longer available,
but the 22.5V "transistor" batteries are, and the higher voltage gives
slightly better noise performance. I recall doing some by-ear
comparisions, and except for a higher nnoise floor the CM-300s compared
nicely with AKG 451s. I'll have to dig them out and see how they fare
today. Mine have omni and cardioid capsules, too.
Thanks for the inadvertent suggestion - and I can feel less worried
using them near a stream!
