Thanks Curt. That is a very sweet deal on the 183's.

I've been trying to figure out a way to do some extensive testing.
When you consider that people have been paying $900 for the DPA
4060's and then $1400+ a pair for the next tier, looking at the
specs, its reasonable to think that something in the $`120-$500 range
_could_ be useful to own. Many things one can do with omnis like the
boundary, jecklin, binaural and wide spaced pairs. The list of lower
noise/cost cardioids is even longer.

Heres the list of Omni potential contenders I've assembled.

Behringer B-2 16 dB(A) 19mV/Pa
Behringer B-2 Pro 17 dB(A) 16 mV/Pa
Behringer B-5 16 dB(A) 12.5 mV/Pa
Octava MK-012* 18 dB(A) 10 mV/Pa
Rode NT2-A* 7 dB(A) 16 mV/Pa
Rode NT5 16 dB(A) 12 mV/Pa
Studio ProjectsC4 16 dB(A) 12 mV/Pa
CAD M-179* 11 dB(A) 16 mV/Pa

* there's decent info about these available, but useful to include
for comparison.

Here are SOME of the more expensive ones with specs for reference
AKG_C480B/CK-62 13dB(A) 20 mV/Pa
DPA 4060 23 dB(A) 20 mV/Pa .
DSM-1S 29 dB(A) ?
MBHO 603a100DK 14 dB(A) 12 mV/Pa
M Gefell M 296 14 dB(A) 15 mV/Pa
Neumann KM 183 16 dB(A) 12 mV/Pa
SchoepsMK2/CMC6 14 dB(A) 15 mV/Pa
Senn ME62 17 dB(A) 20 mV/Pa
Senn MKH 20 10 dB(A) 25 mV/Pa
Telinga EM-23 14 dB(A) ~10mV/Pa

Other omnis people know of <$500 a pair (new) with no more than
20dB(A) self noise?
