In my case the M/S decoder is almost as important as the gain, I only
got serious about a pre when I ended up with the M/S equipment. Though I
have noticed that I often tend to end up with the gain all the way up on
the Portadisc when using the MKH-816's or close to that. So, I could use
more gain there.

The opto isolated limiter in the MP-2 sounds interesting. I'd really
like to know how well it does. I could use a limiter that actually worked.
