In considering different setups I see different situations and gear rig for= areas where I can travel by car and those where I need to travel by plane.= For the latter a pair of small omni mics rigged either on a tree or a coat= hanger (Chris Watson approach) or using mics rigged on a Jecklin disc. The= Jecklin is perfect for travel if constructed properly with a removable rod= going through the center of the disc. =0D =0D I have not seen where anyone has tried constructing a collapsible SASS mic = holder though it seems like a simple enough project. With the right materia= l the interior core need not be a solid mass. =0D =0D Cheaper for a commercial manufacturer to have a mold created for solid SASS= mic holder or to create a foam head but their designs are driven by simpli= city and low cost for mass production. |
