It's interesting that they use a small computer rather than a commercial
recorder. Perhaps that's the only way to get the flexibility they require. I
wonder how the recording quality compares.
It's not obvious how they've waterproofed the mic, which has an exposed furry
cover. Perhaps just having it point downwards is enough.
Also interesting that they mention 80GB of recordings. Perhaps that page is a
couple of years old, but even my M10 can take 36GB (although it has to be
stereo and has to be continuous), and the recently announced PCM-D100 can take
SDXC memory, which I believe is currently available up to 256GB.
I'm more interested to know how they analyse such long recordings.
