Hi - several questions.
Are you saying the *last modified* date is that of the recording, but the
*creation* date is not ? What actually is the creation date ? The time
of the drag'n'drop transfer ?
On MacOSX, the *creation* date is quite obscure, and I'm not sure I know
anyone who uses it. Almost everyone uses *modification* date.
For what it's worth, when I drag'n'drop files from my PCM-M10's internal
storage to any of my Macs (running 10.6 or later), the *modification* date=
is the date of the recording, as expected.
I guess you're using a MicroSD card. If so, have you tried the same thing=
with the recorder's internal storage (connected via a USB cable) ?
Also, the PCM-M10 file *names* incorporate the recording date - so
there's another place you have it.

Don't do that, or the recorder won't be able to read it. If you must
format a card in the Mac, you need to choose "FAT" format, as this is what=
the recorder uses.
That said, I'd generally recommend formmating cards in the recorder (not
the computer). Same goes for other devices e.g digital cameras.
