Hi Chris, At least in OS X 10.4.11, the modification date is not automatically copied= into the creation date. The creation date remains blank, no date at all. I= n Finder view, it's just a series of dashes. That's why one has to use a ut= ility to copy the date, or manually add it to the name if one is using a re= corder that does not base the name on the date. Otherwise the original reco= rding date will be lost as soon as the file is edited.
