in aim is to capture mono recordings of my target species. Secondly to be a=
ble to get some resonable soundscapes of that habitat which would need diff=
erent mics. In terms of the original question running self powered mics is=
a risk as they may convey more noise and secondly you don't know very accu=
rately when they are running down on power.
If you have quiet electret mic can that be as effective as a shotgun on a s=
ingle sounds source? I also need XLR outputs to survive in the bush.
