Not that a comparison test isn't a good idea, my guess is David won't 
be able to make a comparison test with mics that will reveal the 
noise performance difference between the FR-2LE and MP2 pres.

We know the input noise of a Hi-MD pre (-124 dBu [A weighted] at full 
gain) is just audible behind NT1-A's with 6 dB(A) self-noise. When I 
compared recordings Curt made with his FR-2LE and his Hi-MD using 
AT3203's, the former were quieter. I'm not sure what mics David has, 
but they're probably not quieter than NT1-A's.  Raimund's bench test 
measurement at -129 dBu (A weighted) for the FR-2LE seems consistent.
