I noticed the lack of a wire recorder option, a reel to reel seems 
missing, no DAT, the list is endless. What a silly notion that every 
recorder must have every possible format built in. Including all future 
formats. They built a excellent stand alone field recorder. If you want 
a field recorder that does not use MD, there are plenty of different 
models available. Go get one and be happy. I hear iPods are good.
