I think you are right, but go back and read the past year or so's posts 
in the group on the subject of MD, ATRAC and so on and that's not the 
impression the group is collectively putting forth. That's my point, to 
read this group a beginner gets the impression he should look elsewhere 
than MD for a quality recorder. Cassette, for instance, or a iPod to 
cite a couple of recent ones.

As I'm sure everyone knows I believe I get high quality audio from my MD 
setup. I've used MD for some 7 years or so and am quite happy with it's 
abilities. I've used my MD recordings in a commercial CD, and sold 
recordings to others for such purposes. Just wish my own recordings were 
as good as MD, the quality of my recordings is limited by other bits of 
equipment, the very environment and my own skill, or lack thereof, not 
my MD.
