Hello, I used a pair of Earthworks omnis a few years ago when I was trying out a few mics. The Earthworks were compared with Scheops, MKH 20, B&K 4006 and my old faithful MKH 105s. They proved to give a nice sound, they did'nt seem to have appreciable more noise than others, but they were slightly noisier, so my notes say. They proved difficult to mount successfully in the improvised windshield because of their slim shape. On the blind listening tests they came towards the end of our preference.
