The std TSlinux has dropbear , this will control acces via ftp and 
ssh. You will need to create the key file as you would with ssh, ( 
they are not compatible between ssh and drop.)

dropbearkey from memory, else google dropbear.

I install the TS image (either full debian or TSlinux) onto a PC for 
dev then copy to the board when it works. I can then set the board to 
boot via nfs. Never found the need to deal with any filesharing 
issues. May depend on what you aim to do but it seems unlikely you 
would want both the PC and the ARM to be writing the same file at the 
same time. Either you are developing or testing, so in general I dont 
find conflicts.
