One just has to remember where all the notes went!

Not some much of an issue. We've moved several times over the years and
thinned out as we went. Somehow the old S100 and an MPM box survived. It's
amazing how much gear we collect.

The one I'm going to use is 1000 W @ 48 kmh. Give or take a bit. Which should
be serious overkill as the constant draw is only about 24 W including the
TS-7260. However the unit is relatively cheap, robust and locally made. The
wind conditions and siting are also less than optimal. The TS-7260 should
give me the metrics to better use the site and improve the design for others.

True! PCs, with their pre-installed virus software, are cheap now. Could be
even cheaper if manufacturers would pre-load Linux on them. There are some
good desktop environments with lots of supporting software. Nuff of that, I
might find a soap box somewhere.

I was somewhat surprised that the supplied software didn't support the SD card
as a root drive or boot device when it arrived. However, in researching the
problem and becoming familiar with this list I found a wealth of good
information. Certainly the community spirit tipped my decision to stay with
the TS-7260 and invest a bit more in equipment. I plan to use the TS-9700 and
monitor a number of points in the system. However future iterations might
well do with just the two available channels and no SD option. Data to RAM
disk, store until retrieved then dump. I was also toying with the idea of
attaching an anemometer if one could be found that would output a voltage
level.
