Yan:
Let me clarify so that I make sure I have this clear in my mind...
You mentioned:
***
1. "If the intent is to reflash a dead board or flash a custom image
to a new board"
***

Well, the intent I propose is:
"To be able to get a ts7xxx board up and functional again after using
any fis erase command via redboot."

Then you mentioned:
***
2."AFAIK all it would need is some detailed information
on the type and organization of the various TS boards"
***

Lets assume that is possible. How many coder hours do you think it
would take to complete the job so that it performs the intention
stated? And how much $$ per hour?

Then I will go from there.

Note:
As will probably be the case,
someone may recommend
1.using the serial port (not the jtag),
2. using the 9420 already offered by TS:
" * PC/104 "blast" board reprograms Flash on TS-SBC's
    * 32 MB DiskOnChip for storage of binary images
    * Bootable Flash serves as a recovery tool for TS-SBC's"
*****
So if they do, then I need to determine the advantages and
disadvantages of 1 and 2 above.

Obviously, there in no need to recreate the wheel, but, lets be
critical and let the data decide for us.
