Yes. It's 8MB flash image takes over the address space that
normally is occupied by the onboard flash. The CPLD then moves the
onboard flash to 0x70000000. If you boot to Linux with the blast
board, you get /dev/mtdblock/0-2 as the blast board flash
and /dev/mtdblock/3-5 as the onboard flash. You can then use "dd"
to restore the redboot partition "dd if=/dev/mtdblock/5
of=/dev/mtdblock/2"

No. just the 64 pin header is required. "Pass-thru" option means
normal female connectors on top but also male connectors on bottom--
allowing you to stack boards beneath the SBC.

The Disk-on-Chip modules are for booting our x86 boards. The ARM
boards do not use disk-on-chip modules but use commodity NAND or NOR
flash chips.

Yes, we use JTAG to program the CPLD. We don't recommend attempting
reprogramming of the CPLD. If you need CPLD changes, contact us
with what you need so that we can at least give a quote.
As a general rule, we always want to hear about people's
requirements even if we can't meet them immediately. Never assume
we can't already do what you want as we have a lot things we haven't
even released in a product yet or updated on our website. We depend
on the conversations we have over the phone for figuring out what we
should be building.
