> I'd like to buy a shotgun microphone to get set up for nature recording. = I have a Tascam DR-05 recorder. I am primarily interested in recording bird= s but also want to record mammals, and to be able to conduct interviews. I = have a limited budget, so something used would be preferable. What do you a= ll recommend? I was going to suggest a used Sennheiser MKH 416, but the phantom (P48) ver= sion is selling on eBay around $800. There was an MKH 416T, the obsolete T-= power one, for $500, but you'd have to add a $150 power supply to that. Which goes to show that the best microphones are a good investment; quality= -wise they put your money where it counts, and they keep their value. -Dan |
