I use Audio Technica ATH-M35 headphones (http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/= headphones/1e4946cab2f5e453/index.html). They are closed back and foldable = and made for field recording. Retail price is $139 but you can find them fo= r like $69 so it's possible to find them within the $100 budget. I'm satisfied with them. I think that I get what I hear. As someone here wrote, the amplifier in portable recorders isn't the best s= o I think these are enough for my needs. I haven't got any big problems with wind, but I don't record in hard wind o= ften so I really don't know if they are any better than Sony. I think that = all headphones that are big will catch some wind. Some more and some less o= f course. You can always use in-ear phones if the wind gets to hard... ;) I don't lik= e using in-ear headphones in nature. At home I'm using AKG K271 Studio, but I think they are to big to use outdo= ors. /H=C3=A5kan O. |
