It used to be mic noise, preamp noise, and tape noise. Now it's mic noise, = preamp noise, conversion noise, and post-conversion gain changes either in = the recorder or in post. Basically the conversion noise is the "medium" like the tape, but it's so m= uch lower that the process becomes easier to use (if not to understand). -Dan |
