Never used a parabolic mic and never been to the jungle! My practical experience is limited compared to some of the real experts on this list. I am more an aggregator and synthesist of information. Despite that caveat, I will say that your number one priority should be reliability in a high humidity environment. This concern should trump pure specs, since if your mic starts sputtering or your recorder short-circuits, all other bets are off. -- Robin Parmar |
