yes, forget about it. no difference in sound and the fact that your not wor=
king with a rig that you're carrying on shoulder, having 2 xlr cables are a=
 cheap and good way to do what you need to.

the star quad and having y splitters on each end would be more useful when =
you're worried about bulkiness and not wanting to carry too much when worki=
ng with a portable setup. learning the basics in soldering will keep costs =
down when needing specialized cables. i make (almost) everything i need. sa=
ves more money for the equipment that matters, mics and recorders.
