I wasn't really countering your counter.=C2=A0 The MR-1000 is known to have=
a subdued low end with it's stock preamps.=C2=A0 There's a mod to change t=
hat, but I opted for external preamps instead.=C2=A0 In part due to battery=
life concerns.=C2=A0 As in, even if the preamps weren't any better than th=
e Korg's, I'd still have improved battery life.=C2=A0 Since I was buying si=

Low end balance IMO has been an ongoing issue for me.=C2=A0 Not that it hel=
ps being a trombone player who dabbles on tuba.=C2=A0 So by default I have =
a skewed impression of what the low end should be.=C2=A0 Skewed or not, whe=
n the camcorder (cost less than the mics) has a noticeably better low end t=
han your setup, you know somethings not right.=C2=A0
My setup is still not quite where I want it, but it's getting there.=C2=A0 =
And I'm fairly confident now that it's my mics at this point and not the re=
st of my chain.=C2=A0 Unfortunately I have yet to find better mics that wer=
en't more trouble than they're worth outdoors.=C2=A0 In part because of tha=
t low end and what it does to the other sensitivies.=C2=A0 Next up shock mo=
unts and a decent stereo bar, then onto some higher end mics.=C2=A0 It can =
be quite frustrating when you add video to the mix.=C2=A0 You see an event =
happen and you can't quite make out the sound that you know it produces in =
the audio.=C2=A0 Factor in near Austin, Texas where 40mph sustained=C2=A0 w=
