I use RC batteries in my FR2-LE (3700 mAh and 2300 mAh). I don't have any scientific results but I can say that with either of the batteries on full charge they last longer than 2 x 4Gb compact flash cards record for (4 ish hours), using phantom power and monitoring. I have been using both batteries alternately (one stored in the unit ready to go, with one standing by next to the charger) for about 18 months and there seems to be no drop off in capacity.
