Hello all,

I had a rather unfortunate incident this AM with my Sound Devices 702
and wondered if anyone here has experienced anything like this. I was
out recording for an hour or so until the battery started to go. It
shut down as usual and I came in to listen/recharge. After powering it
up it showed no audio files at all. I checked it from a card reader on
the PC and got the same, and also noticed that all of the system
folders had been recreated at the time it was powered up. The amount
of space used and available is the same as it was before this.

I ran the CF repair utility on the 702 and it recovered about 10 files
(there were hundreds on the card). I have yet to try the rescue
software that came with the card (Sandisk Extreme III 8 GB) as I
wanted to see if Sound Devices or anyone here had any ideas on what
happened or how I might recover the files.

Fortunately everything was backed up apart from the last two days. An
unnerving event none the less.
