Thanks very much for the link, however I don't see a stereo XLR to Stereo m=
ini set-up. I paid a good penny for a stereo VP-88 and don't see the need t=
o down grade to mono input. I see it feeds left and right channel, but I w=
ould need some custom plug to plug into the microphone base. =0D

I have a Shure VP-88 with dual XLR, I bought a Dual XLR to stereo sub-mini =
from sweetwater. My concern is the wear and tear on my Sony MZ-200 micropho=
ne jack. Because of the weight of the 5 foot cable, I took a headphone case=
and attached a belt clip. I also used double-sided tape and mounted a blac=
kberry clip, that fell off a old unit to the underside of the MZ-200. So I =
can now clip the recorder to my belt and have access to all controls and di=
splays and then clip the headphone case, (the black large case that comes w=
ith Sony 800 full size headphones) which I feed the excess cable and hopefu=
lly take some of the weight off the mic jack. Then also allows one hand to =
be free and wave that large stereo microphone around.=0D

For handheld use I also use five foot cables. The=0D
four+shield is great cable. Making your own cables is=0D
easy enough with basic soldering skills and a true=0D
value if you spend time where getting a replacement is=0D
inpossible. Plus you can get the highest quality parts=0D
for much less than what I have sceen cables go for=0D
from makers.=0D
