I must be recovering some, it's only two weeks until I'll be riding my
trike across Georgia from Columbus to Savannah in a week. That is if the
forest fires don't smoke us out. We've got smoke from the S Georgia
fires here today (and I'm planning a 40 mile ride this afternoon) Don't
know yet if riding BRAG this year is a error, but I'd planned to do it
before the cancer. And my dad was eager about it before he died, what
finally pushed me to commit and send my money in.
Joan, as usual is putting many, many miles on her racing shell. The lake
she rows many times a week has our local university team rowing on it
too. To watch her smoothly slipping past those folks who are trying to
figure out the sport is fun.
Sadly, though I seem to have won against cancer this time, my dad lost
his battle against another cancer. I sure hope I don't follow him on
that. Having cancer does change how you think about things. It brings
into clearer focus that life is finite. You sort through what you are
doing for what to continue. Lately I've been putting much more emphasis
on my photography vs nature recording. Wondering if I should cut out one
of these expensive hobbies.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, though I don't know why. I feel like
I'm contributing some in the photography groups I belong to, but not
really here. The photography groups have their own wars, FF vs APS, love
of ever increasing MP counts by some. Many of the better photographers
have realized that the value of increased MP tapers off rapidly as they
increase. (that should sound familiar in this discussion here) I have
nearly 60 years of photography experience including extensive DSLR
experience and can help the beginners there some without all the flack I
get here.
