While it has space for uncompressed, a lot of DVD-video types use 
compression. In some cases the compression process starts by downsampling.

And your DVD player may downsample even if it's not compressed.

So don't assume you will be hearing 24/96 audio just because you 
recorded it on a DVD. You have to verify what's happening. And that the 
audio reproduction system (speakers, amps, etc.) are really up to 24/96. 
It's easy to add higher sampling rates to equipment for the advertising 
advantages, but costs a lot more to design and sell a system that 
actually delivers the goods to the person's ears. And since most folks 
don't really care or know good sound, it's usually left out of the design.

Of course if you are making money at it you can probably make more by 
printing 24/96 on it regardless of what it actually is worth.
