Most movies use the Dolby AC3 compression, but this is only because  
uncompressed audio would take up too much room on the disc, having to  
share space with picture. If you're making a disc with no picture,  
you should get away with 24/96 no problem. The spec theoretically  
even allows for 8 channels of 24/96, but there is an overall  
'bandwidth' limit that I think prevents this.
