How about set a mic up on a stand outside where there is a reasonable level of natural sound. Check the levels on your recorder, then wrap a layer of fur around the mic closing it with clothespins and check the level again. Has to be done under calm conditions. Without some calibrated equipment I'd not too much trust trying to map the cut at different frequency levels. The general cut would be enough to know. In the fabric shops I put it up to the light to check the weave, and listen through it. Walt |
