I have never connected a EM23 to Plug In Power without getting a low (13-14=

dbA) microphone noise. Never preamp noise!

The only time I have got preamp noise with Walkman-type recorders was with=

the newer versions of Sharp MD's. I wrote about it here. When using good 10=

mm electrets as the Primo EM100, which has a FET-IC, not only a FET, - the=

plug in power voltage provided by those Sharps go down to some 0,4v and the=

mic output drops 20 db. Then comes the preamp noise, of course.
This is a Sharp problem, using the same mic's with Sony works fine.

Klas.
