The sound is different when recorded from up there away from nearby reflecting sources. I always consider the sound of the mic being a combination of it's own characteristics and it's location. The same mic can sound quite different depending on how located. You are also listening to a different recorder. When I had it on the tall tripod it went into the MP2.
