Minidisc.org turned up a Sharp technical paper that describes their effort to develop a minidisc pickup that can read both MD and Hi-MD discs. So maybe Sharp will be entering the Hi-MD game at some point. The Sharp USA web site no longer mentions minidisc products, so I guess we'll have to purchase Sharp MD products through importers like Audio Cubes.
