Someone might want to look into the 660's mic preamp noise and gain. 
Having phantom power would enable many more mic options if the preamp 
is quiet and has enough gain.

Very likely that the 660's media will mount on  Mac OS9.22 and above. 
HiMD discs will mount on the Mac desktop- you just can't use the 
native file format without Sony pre-processing through SonicStage. 
One can even use the HiMD formatted discs to transport the .wav files 
to your Mac after they've been through WavConverter. Some day, some 
one might figure out a workaround.
