Heres the link for the rode nt4, you can use a 9volt battery to power
it if you need.

regarding the fluffy... To save money you can use the rycote slip on
cover (60ish $usd) rather than a full windshield system as the foam
windscreen it comes with is only fine if you are indoors, and yes you
will need a shock mount also. Maybe someone else here can recommend the
best and cheapest shockmount to use as i can't help you with that.
Try <trewaudio.com> or <locationsound.com> I don't any relationship
apart from being a customer of these companies and have always found
them very helpful. Sure you can find plenty of box retailers on the web
but these guys actually can help you with any questions you may have as
they are location sound professionals and understand where you are
coming from. Also I always found the prices to be more or less the same
as b&h or others on the web.
And before i forget, yes it's a good idea to have the longer cable. It
means you can put the mic in the optimum position while you have a
comfy seat in the shade.
Good Luck.
