I haven't used the Rode NT4, but in other home-made rigs I have sometimes
used screw-down plastic clips (available from Tandy) that are used to hold
electrical cables, they are just a nice size to grip straying mic cables.
If you can get that first short loop of cable secured, from the back of the
mic to the suspension mount, then that does help quite a bit. (I have also
improvised with bits of string, and rubber bands, in securing cables, what
you might call a non-technical solution.)
