Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm excited to get rid of the digital camcorder and focus on
recording the sounds of nature (jungle, waterfalls, ocean waves
etc.) when I go on my holidays. I'm new to this area so please
forgive my basic and naive questions.

I've been doing some research on microphones and digital recording
devices to buy and thought I should go with the following unless
someone could recommend a better solution.

RECORDING DEVICE --------------
- Sony MZ-NH1 or Sony MZNH900 (both are mini disc recorders that
have the ability to record in a linear PCM (un-compressed data)
format. (I like this option for both it's price and it's small
size.)

MICROPHONE --------------------
- Shure VP88 - Cardioid Stereo Condenser Microphone (to get the
true stereo effect, should I look at a different option i.e.
seperated left and right microphone?)

I would like to be able to capture sounds with a quality commonly
heard on nature CD's that are bought in the store.=20=20=20

Thanks again!
