In your experience with these, do you get much resonance from the 
tube?  I imagine you'd get some comb filtering effect...  how does it 
work in practice?

If resonance is an issue it occurs to me to cut big areas out of the 
tube, and use more mesh to cover it.  (i.e. the tube gets trimmed 
down so it's ultimately an open frame)
