1. I use a sound insulated "Case Logic" carrying case. Sometimes I
just use a shirt pocket with the remote if I am wearing a coat. I
also use pants pockets and the remote. I use extended time (sometimes
hours) in record-pause so that I can record just by hitting the pause
on the remote.
2. No work-around without using an external pre. I live with it.
3. I will only use gold plated mini-plugs on my sonys as those are
the only ones that I have found to be trouble free.
4. No work-around.
