Minidisc Recorder

Subject: Minidisc Recorder

Hello

I am just new on recording sounds and have used while
vacation in Costa Rica an old tape recorder, comparing
my recordings to the files I find in the internet,
quality is bad. There is a lot of noise in it, part of
it is probably as well due to the mic. Reading the
found messages I want to try to get beside a new mic,
a minidisc recorder. I just found some hints to try to
get either a sony mz-r30 or mz-r50 at ebay.

What is the difference between the two (weight,
quality etc.)?
Does anyone also know the difference to the newer Sony
mz-r700 (A college from me has a Sony mz-r700 and let
me listen to a treefrog recording. It sounded
impressing compared to my tape-recordings.).

Thank you very much for your answers!

Susanna
